Prof. M.A Oommen

Chairman

Professor M.A Oommen is the current Chairman of the Society for ‘Our Space’. He is also Honorary Director of Centre for Budget Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Emeritus Professor at the Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi and Honorary Fellow, Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram. He was former Chairman, Fourth State Finance Commission, Government of Kerala and was Chairman and member in several commissions in India and abroad. 

He did his masters degree in Economics in 1954 and received his PhD from Kerala University in 1968. He obtained the Diploma in Economic Development from Naples, Italy and awarded post doctoral fellowship by the Rockeffeller Foundation. He has 38 years of teaching experience, more than 50 years of research experience and published more than 25 books and 200 papers
